PHILOSOPHY OF FIVE POINTS
Imagine this: it’s a crisp fall Friday in November. The Five Points shops are open late. Inside of these storefronts, an unlikely group of collaborators welcome you in for fun, interactive sessions: shop owners, philosophers, students, actors, artists and musicians have curated a unique experience inside. This event highlighted the community ecosystems that the merchants have built individually, and how they come together for the greater whole - basically the entire essence of Five Points itself! We explored big questions as a community, and did it with fun and play.

“Socrates fearlessly brought profound questions to the public square. While history tells us it didn't end well for him, the enduring lesson is the immense value in cultivating civic spaces for conversation and dialogue. I am thrilled to embark on a journey of community partnership with artists and business owners breathing life into timeless questions. Our Philosophy of Five Points evening will honor the pursuit of knowledge in community and the joy of exploration together.” Professor Matt Kisner, chair of USC’s Philosophy Department.
